This is about a girl who lives in the future.  She lives in a poor village controlled by the Council of the Guardians.  When her mother dies, she is left with nothing, and has been accused of being useless by some.  But she has an extrodanary gift, she weaves amazingly well.  So the Guardians assign her the job of weaving The Singers Robe.  Every year the Singer sings a song about the past (aka our time).  She soon realizes that there is more to this than it seems.

Would you Recommend this book to what age group? Why?
I would recommend this book to middle schooler and old grade schoolers.    

What did you like about this book?
I liked the futureastic style.   

What didn't you like about this book?
This book was not as good as I thought it would be.  I thought it would be a lot like The Giver, but it wasn't.
